Inherent in all is the realization that students should gradually assume an increasingly greater responsibility for their own learning. Therefore, the school must seek to offer experiences that deal with the “whole student,” his/her physical, mental, social and emotional components. These offerings must allow all students to develop a positive self-image and a sense of self-worth regardless of background, needs, or aspirations and they should be rewarding and pleasant for all concerned.
