Hosting an au pair through Cultural Care Au Pair is the perfect solution to your childcare needs. Au pairs are carefully screened, young adults from more than 35 countries around the world. They have significant childcare experience (at least 200 hours) and are motivated to spend a year (or more) living and working as part of an American family. This provides for you flexible, affordable childcare, and also a real opportunity for intercultural exchange, not just for the au pair, but for your whole family.
Au pairs come with certain requirements which are defined by the US State Department. They can provide childcare for up to 45 hours per week with no more than 10 hours per day and may provide help with light, child-related housekeeping tasks. These requirements are non-negotiable, but families who agree to work within these guidelines can have a life-changing experience through hosting an au pair.
At Cultural Care we get to know our host families and our au pairs so that our Placement Managers can then make a tentative match for you. Obviously, this process will continue until you find the right fit for your family. The more we know about your needs, the more successful the matching process we will be.
Once you decide to host an au pair you get lots of continuing support from Cultural Care staff and your local childcare coordinator such as myself!
